Fierce Instructors.
The staff at Blanche Ranch have been through a lot. That's why we are so passionate about helping others. We help trauma survivors access the education they need and assist them in sharing their stories of survival.
Statistics
Nearly half of all American children are exposed to adverse childhood experiences, which can lead to complex trauma.
Street-involved, sexually abused, LGBTQIA+2S, and impoverished youth are all at significantly higher risk of addiction, sexual exploitation, violence, and contraction of HIV and Hepatitis C
Complex trauma can impact memory, communication, attention, and organization management, making individuals with CPTSD less likely to be successful in traditional educational programs.
Women with a history of repetitive childhood physical and/or sexual assault are more likely to develop comorbid post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and substance use disorder (SUD), with rates of dual diagnosis ranging from 30% to 59%
Our Mission
Learn, to Leave
The Mission of the Blanche Ranch is to provide trauma-informed high school diploma tutoring and creative writing mentorship to individuals who feel such practices will aid in their healing journey.
This was the most encouraging and engaging class I have ever taken!

Our Vision
As you may have guessed, the concept of a 'Blanche Ranch' was inspired by the ‘80s NBC sitcom, “Golden Girls.” From the theme song, to the issues they addressed, to the friendship and the laughter, this show served as a surrogate chosen family for many vulnerable youth growing up in the 80s and 90s. We seek to embody the foundational elements of the show while also building our own version. The Blanche Ranch of our dreams will be built around a hub of education, community, and recovery.

Our founding members, all experienced in the nonprofit industry, have noticed that many organizations fall short of their stated mission and core values. That is why we carefully designed a unique aesthetic so that our clients and donors immediately recognize our commitment to keeping things lighthearted and supportive, even while discussing often grim lived experiences. While we, of course, give certain subjects the gravity they require, we are committed to the ideology that our pasts do not define us, and that focusing on a glowing future is imperative to healing.
We also noted that so many people give up on their educational journeys because they don’t have the time, technology, or foundational education to reach what they see as their next goals. That’s why our programs are designed to be accessible by phone, our courses are short and sweet, and we offer additional one-on-one tutoring sessions in between for students who might need a bit of extra help.
Our specific class times, dates, and subjects emphasize regular, enthusiastic, engagement; and our success metrics are measured by higher program completion rates than those reported by other adult education organizations. We adhere to a harm reduction and goal-oriented study model, with regular, measurable, milestones; as well as maximized access to one-on-one learning sessions.
Our goal is to have each student leave the ranch with an increased sense of empowerment and personal agency, educational certificates (where applicable), and a step-by-step plan that will lead them to careers they love.
In the long term, we aspire to offer scholarships for LGBTQIA+ and at-risk youth to attend safe, agnostic private schools to complete their high school diplomas. We also hope to provide college scholarships for survivors of trafficking as well as for the children of justice-involved parents.

We also aim to establish partnerships with law enforcement agencies in order to offer our services to currently incarcerated and justice-involved individuals. Through these collaborations, we hope to reduce recidivism rates and enable our students to cultivate the skills essential to entering the professional marketplace.
Ultimately, we aim to acquire an actual ranch in California, where we will facilitate various courses, therapies, art workshops, and other holistic healing systems to best ensure the long-term success of our students. The ranch will focus on sustainability and community-building practices to instill bodily autonomy and interdependence practices in each of our graduates. Until the ranch of our dreams becomes a reality, all services offered are online, which keeps our overhead down, meaning we can prioritize our services over fundraising, which has always been a top priority.
Thank you for reading, for believing in us, and for being a friend!
