Carrie Seidler
As a teen, Carrie experienced bullying and sexually exploitative traumas that drove her to the brink of suicide, trafficking, and addiction. Through education, therapy, and community, she managed to pull herself out of the despair that came with repeatedly being told she was only worth what her body could provide. Carrie has since earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing from UC Santa Cruz, a Master's degree in Creative Writing, moderated a panel for the UN NGO Committee on the Status of Women, copy edited and contributed a lesson plan to a textbook on Comfort Women, taught multiple college-level creative writing courses at SFSU, and currently teaches high school English in Irvine, CA.
Carrie is known for her ability to authentically share her experiences while utilizing her disarming sense of humor to enable her audiences to feel comfortable while learning about the dark side of humanity and what we can do to protect ourselves and the ones we love.
